Minecraft Mondays: Bonus Blocks -- Ghast & Ender Dragon

Happy Monday!

It's Minecraft Monday #22 today, since starting the quilt, and these two bonus blocks are brought to you by @little.emerz. :D

My son is so excited that there are so many extras! He even sat down and drew out more extras last night, that I'll be sharing in the future. Shulker? I think that's what it was called, and Guardian? It's all new to me, but I'm glad he's having so much fun with helping me with his design!

Onto this week's extras. Let's do Ghast first.

Cutting:

Black: (4) 2 x 2"
       (1) 2 x 6 1/2"

Gray: (8) 2 x 2"
      (2) 2 x 3 1/2"

White: (6) 2 x 2"
       (2) 2 x 3 1/2"
       (2) 2 x 5"
       (1) 2 x 6 1/2"
       (2) 3 1/2 x 5"
       (1) 3 1/2 x 9 1/2"

Prep: Assemble the blocked out sections of the diagram first, as shown in the photos below.

Assembly: Then, assemble in order of the numbered arrows.

And you will have a Ghast! :D

********************************

Next up is Ender Dragon. (Is that two words or one?) *edit: I asked the in-house MInecraft expert and he assured me it's two. ;)

For him, you'll need to do the following:

Cutting:

Black: (4) 2 x 2"
       (4) 2 x 3 1/2"
       (2) 2 x 6 1/2"
       (3) 3 1/2 x 6 1/2"

Gray: (2) 2 x 2"
      (2) 2 x 3 1/2"

Purple: (2) 2 x 2"
        (4) 2 x 3 1/2"

Pink: (1) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"

Prep: Stitched the blocked sections first as shown below.

\

Assembly: Stitch together according to the small gray arrows, then according to the numbered arrows.

And then you'll have an Ender Dragon block!

I will try to do two extra blocks at a time, so stay tuned for the next two extras. I have lots to pick from...

TNT, Spider, Potion Bottle, some cubes, Sword, Pick Axe etc. Right now, my son is heavily voting for TNT and Spider. He is actually asking for a TNT cube pillow for his bed. I've only ever sewn three pillow covers..one was applique and two were plain shams. Umm.. We'll see if I can make a quilted cube. haha

Thanks for stopping in!  Happy sewing!

xoxoxo

P.S. Some of you, early on, were asking for printable directions for the blocks. I'm happy to say that I FINALLY figured out how to turn the blog posts into PDFs, and the first 10 or so blocks ALL of them, all of them are now available that way. If you go to each post, there's a link at the bottom where you can download the printable version, including this one! :D

Mine on! ;)

Awesome! Thanks for the pdfs. That way I don't have quite so many pages in my reading list. I'm a bit scared to show this project to my 10 year old since I know he's going to demand I make him a Minecraft quilt... I'd better gear up though. It's pretty darn cool!

Are you starting to wonder if you'll still be doing Minecraft Mondays for the rest of your days?!
