My Blog List
But first, the finish! This was my first time to ever stuff an actual pillow, rather than making a cover so it was all a new experience. Here she is.
I am still thinking about making it into a sprocket pillow (thanks CeLynn for the suggestion!) but for now it is done!
Having the seams in the sides, helped me to keep the hexagon shape when I sewed it to the front, and then put the back on.
Here it is over the back of my sewing chair.. it makes me want to cover my sewing chair like this.. like those cool patchwork upholstered ones you see on Pinterest.
Stuffed it, ladder stitched the opening closed, and it's a pillow. :) Used some Riley Blake dots for the back from the Farm Fresh line.
And now, it just needs a covered button in the middle I think. Maybe, but haven't decided what to cover it with.
In the meantime, it's that time of year again for the Blog Hop Party with Giveaways..
..and this time, for the party, and also to help me celebrate reaching 600 followers, my sponsors are each offering a prize, so there will be three prizes, and three winners! :) Yay! More chances to win! Thank you, thank you to each one of them!! Go and check out their shops!
You could win one of these three prizes:
1. A $25 gift certificate from Mad About Patchwork.
2. This half yard bundle from Skye Reve Fabrics:
3. Or.. last, but not least, a jelly roll of 2wenty Thr3e from the Fat Quarter Shop.
No hoops to jump through, just let me know you're a follower with one comment.
You can have one extra chance each if you choose to tweet, FB, pin, or blog about the giveaway, but those are optional. If you do, leave a separate comment with the link for each one. That's it. I'll leave the giveaway open until Sunday, March 17th. *Open to international followers*
Good luck and Happy Hopping!!!

I am a follower.
Also I think your pillow is super cool. i have also checked out all the fancy chairs on pintrest, but I am too scared.
I vote for a big chocolatey brown button!! To match the strips on the sides. And becasue a pink one will blend in with the spots in the fabric, and we want that button to be a STAR!!!
Ok, I'm crazy, but I do like your pillow :-)
Your cushion is wonderful! I love the idea of a covered button in the centre, how about an orange to tone with the orange in the dot print/stalls? (Or is it red? It's hard to tell on my screen!) Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!
P.S. My tip for adding the button, if you're going to create a 'dimple' like you do with a biscornu: use polyester thread (it's stronger!) and pull the centre together first and then add the button. It means you don't risk breaking the button!
I am so making pillows this last month and loving yours. I found that stuffing was really costing me a lot so I went to WallyWorld (Walmart) and bought regular pillows for $3.50 each and now I have been using that stuffing for my pillows and loving it!!
Those fabrics are fab and I am so happy to have a chance to win - keeping my fingers crossed
Hi Kelli - I've been a follower for a while and glad to support your goal toward thousands of followers. If I could clone myself, I'd follow you again! I love the prizes; so springy. Stop by Prairie Cottage Corner and have a visit with us. Thanks for letting us stop by.
