Friday Progress Report-YAY!

The Swoon cutting has commenced!  Posting about my lack of progress a couple of days ago really motivated me to GET GOING and MAKE time for myself to do something fun.  I will say this.. this baby has lots of cutting involved!

Cutting is my least favorite part of any project, but now that I have started it..

I can't WAIT to get done so I can start piecing some of these blocks.  Piecing is my favorite part.  I love watching a block come together.. like putting a puzzle together.  YUM.
Here is the progress:
Had to cut three sets of strips, so far.. (I'm saving the strips for the sashing to cut when I actually need it.) Twelve strips, then nine, then six.. Which will be turned into..
72 pieces, 108 pieces, and 54 pieces.  For someone who really dislikes the cutting process, I have my work "cut out" for me! Bleh.  BUT, I can't wait to have it done!  Because then comes the fun part!

Other things keeping us busy this week..

Pajama day at preschool, complete with pillow-making and a pillow fight..

Walking the preschool class about four blocks to a Greg and Steve concert, where there were about 400 screaming 0-6 year olds..

I read that Europe is having a record cold winter.. but winter seems to have forgotten to show up here.  It has been perfect Spring-like weather lately, and Buster has been loving the dog park!
And working up quite a thirst..

And Austin has been practicing his writing at the dog park, too. :o)

"BUSTR" (Buster) :o)

A heart and "MOM"
My perfect Valentine.
Swoon.

I'm swooning in more ways than one! :o)  Have a great weekend everyone! xo

Good luck with Swoon! Gorgeous photos of Buster...and I have no idea who Greg and Steve are and, to be honest, I'm not in a rush to find out *wink* Have a lovely weekend!

You are making good progress. Cutting is my least favorite part also. I am having to cut some 1 3/4" tiny blocks right now and even with short-cuts, it's not fun.
What a sweet boy you have :)

Cutting is my least favorite part, too. But then I remember having to use cardboard templates for my first quilt, so now that I have a rotary cutter and rulers, I guess I can't complain too much. ;-)

My heart melted at the heart and mom. How sweet!

Can't wait to see your swoon blocks!!

Cut cut...you can do it...love the Swoon quilt and looking forward to seeing your version...

Oh the cutting is definitely not top of my favourite things to do either, I just want to sew! It will be worth it though (keep telling yourself that!)

Winter took a very long time to find us in Europe, but since it did it a couple of weeks ago, it seems to be making up for lost time!

That pattern makes me swoon! ;-) It is so pretty! Cutting is my least favorite too. I was just thinking the other day that making quilts is just like putting together a puzzle and I LOVE puzzles!
Buster looks like he is having FUN and also the kiddos having their pillow fight. How cute!

Fun pillow fight! His writing is wonderful :)
Happy swooning my dear! x

AWWWW your son is so sweet to write you messages. Have fun piecing your swoon, now that you have most of the cutting done.

ooh well done on all your cutting! it's definately my LEAST favourite part of the process too, I really don't like it. Piecing is fun, fun, fun!! :D
Jessie, xo

I'm swooning too, or at least I have bought the fabric for it.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Swoon. My DH wanted the pattern. . but I'm sure that I am the one that will end up making it!(That is usually what happens in our household.)

I'm not a fan of cutting either. Looks like you are off to a good start on your swoon quilt:)

Well done with starting Swoon and all your cutting! The pyjama day and pillow fight sounds like a fun idea.

Hello Kelli,

Cutting is one of those things you either love or hate, plus all that counting!! Love your photos of your son at pre-school, a pj's day and pillow fight sounds like a heap of fun.
Happy days.
Bev.xoxo

reading your post just brought a big smile to my face...thank you for sharing with us. :)

I dislike cutting fabrics too...I am glad to hear that I'm not the only one. :) I can't wait to see your SWOONs!
